Budgeting for Maintenance

If one purchases a new 2017 Allegro Red or Phaeton and is going to have routine scheduled maintenance performed (I assume on the engine, transmission, chassis and all of the RV systems) by mechanics - meaning NOT ME - what would be a good, conservative annual budget be to perform this work?

Thanks

maintenance budget

If if you are planning on having someone else do your maintenance, here are a few of the expenses to plan on, assuming a diesel engine and generator:

annual oil change and filter change for both engines - ~ $350
if you have an aquahot ~ $225, a new diesel nozzle is part of the annual maintenance
Fuel filters - ~ $125
Chassis Lube - usually included in oil change, but some places say they do the lube and skip it

To get a more complete answer - go to the tiffin web and download the manuals for the coaches you're considering and look at the maintenance sections.

Good Luck

Budget for maintenance

Most of those manuals are out of date with little detailed information.

I had Speedco do engine oil and filter change, 2 fuel filters, and chassis lube....less than 200.

I did the generator oil & filter change, think the filter was about 15 bucks and I think about 20 bucks or so for oil.....didn't ask around to see what it would cost elsewhere, as it was so easy to do and I had changed it (based on usage hrs) prior to the annual maintenance.

Phaeton's have a slightly larger engine than REDs, so I don't know whether Speedco classifies them still as light duty, or maybe medium duty which could be slightly higher.

I'd check with a Cummins Service Center to get the high side and if you have a good mechanic you have used locally check with them and see if they are lower. Dave
