Buying from Factory vs Dealer...

The Wife and I are starting to prep for either the 31sa or the 36la in the next 6 months...That said..

Will I get a better price from a dealer or from Factory direct. Everything I know says I would get a better price from Factory.

Thoughts, advice, any help would be greatly appreciated...

You can't buy a Tiffin factory direct. All sales must go through a dealer.

Absolutely true, but if you want to order one, the factory sales folks will be happy to work with you to be sure you get exactly what you want and can recommend either a dealer near your home or near Red Bay who will be happy to negotiate a price with you and get you set up. You can give them a call at 256-356-8661. If you order one the way you want it, I highly recommend you go to the factory and watch YOURS be built. the camping in the Tiffin CG is free for that and you can be right in, and around it while yours is being built.

Not sure where you are located, but there are several Tiffin dealers that will give you "best price" without you having to go through the hassle of negotiating every detail. You should log on and register at tiffinrvnetwork.com and go to the Dealer subject area for recommendations on dealers that are good to work with. Plus, by joining the website, you will get to ask other Tiffin (and SOB) owners anything you would like. BTW, this is not a company sponsored website, it is completely independent.

That's a great way to go if you have time. If you do it, take lots and lots of pictures of the build in progress.

I'm not meaning to hijack the thread, but I just ordered a 2014 36 LA and only live about 45 minutes from Red Bay. I don't have time to go watch the entire build but may take off work a few days and go watch. I have a few question for those of you that have watched theirs being built. Does Tiffin contact me with a schedule or is that the saleman's and my responsibility to find out when it will be built? If I only have 1-2 days to go to the factory, what part of the construction would be most advantageous for me to try and observe? Thanks in advance.

Your dealer should supply you with the Tiffin build number. If they don't, give them a call. You can then call Tiffin (Stephanie McCarly) and she can supply you with a production schedule. It takes Tiffin a couple of weeks to put the schedule together so don't get too eager.

Just returned from RB and watched our 14 Phaeton from station 12 to out the back door to undercoating, front end allignment then paint. You dont need to see the entire coach being built as you are free to walk around and see others like yours in the various build stages. We took pictures of all phases from wiring the freightliner frame to subflooring to the inside being completed. Stephanie was great to provide build schedule and direct us to the proper area within the factory.
