Cabinet wood type in 2014 Tiffin Phaeton

Anybody know what type of wood this is? English Chestnut is the stain.. trying to build some custom shelving that matches.

The brochure shows you got a choice between Medium Alderwood and English Chestnut stains that year, but finding the actual wood used is not so easy.

Tiffin uses Alder for all their cabinet fronts then stains it to it's final color. For English Chestnut you need Minwax #233 stain.

Just call Tiffin and they'll tell you. I don't know for sure, but in all their Buses they use cherry. I've built a number of cabinets for our 2008 and then 2013 Bus and checked with the cabinet shop before I did. Their response was always the same...Cherry. I don't recall them saying they used alder when taking the plant tour except in the last year or two. A good cabinet maker or woodworker should be able to take a look at a door or drawer front and tell you too.

It's alder although you could probably use popular as well. Either wood takes stain well.
