Camera Monitor Removal
I've tried doing my due diligence searching for this answer but ended up going down a few rabbit holes instead.
I have a 2009 Tiffin Phaeton 40 QTH and I am trying to remove the LCD monitor for the exterior cameras. The monitor in mounted in a panel that holds the Nav/Radio, GenSet start, HVAC controls, and a couple of 12v receptacles. It looks like it would be simple just removing the screws that hold the mounting plate to the dash but no matter how i get my pry tools behind the fiberglass panel there seems to be something keeping it from coming out and I'm concerned with breaking the panel. I have noticed that 4 of the screws are actually machine screws surrounding the monitor itself but not easy to see the nuts on the backside. It's almost impossible getting my hands behind the dash so I started looking for a way to remove the dog house type housing for the 2 drawers and cupholders but cant find that either.
I'm still working on it but thought I would throw it out hoping someone has gone through the process.
Thanks in advance
Jerry

Did all the screws come out? Years ago I took the dash apart on my 2010 Allegro RED and as I recall, some of the screws were machine screws with nuts on the back, and I had to get to them by removing the lower drawer.

Also need to replace camera monitor
I have a 2008 Bus with a Sony VCB-62MH and also looking for advice on how to remove. I'm not completely sure the monitor is broken but would like to remove to work on it. The monitor started to look noisy then went black. The audio still works all three cameras are black. Any ideas on how to remove would be greatly appreciated. Joe

camera Monitor Removal
Just thought i would provide an update for anyone else in the same boat. to remove the camera monitor I needed to first remove the radio/nav system to access 2 screws at the top of the mounting bracket for that system and then I was able to remove the part of the dash insert that held the camera monitor. Now the problem is the monitor is obsolete and no easy direct replacement.
Oh the joy of RVing.

I changed both my head unit and installed a 9" flatscreen monitor in my old 2010 Allegro RED. Hope this gives you some ideas.

Camera Monitor
As a final update, RVcams had a Voyager replacement kit for my obsolete Triplvision with only minor mods to the dash. Everything works as designed and I can see what's behind me now. Thanks for the inputs.

Please elaborate. Where did you get the replacement 7” monitor? What do you use the 9” monitor for?

The 7" screen was actually a multi-function Kenwood Radio/SiriusXM/CD-DVD player with camera input. Took it out when I sold the coach, and it is still sitting in my basement.
Since I wanted to have a fulltime rear camera, I put in a 9" LED flat screen monitor to cover the hole left by the old failed Triplevision CRT monitor. They did make screens that had quad inputs so I could have run all three cameras and had a blank 4th quadrant. Since I never really liked the B&W side cameras anyway, I just eliminated them and went with the one big shot from a new color rear camera.

Update on 2008 Allegro Bus Monitor Replacement
Hi Guys -- I had no trouble removing the VCB-62MH after removing the 6 screws holding the carbon fiber dash panel. As you guys said by removing the radio, I found it takes a lot of weight off the dash panel to lift out. In my case I wanted to use the existing cameras so my solution was to replace with Voyager VOM718. Since in my case I have an 8"x10" space available so I will surface mount the monitor and a Garmon 895 in this space. Yesterday I hooked the 718 up and everything worked great. I purchased a carbon fiber sheet (4.5mm thick) which matches the dash panel and will fabricate an access panel to fill the 6"x8" void from the Sony. Will send pictures once I complete the install. Thanks for all your inputs it is a great help. kv4pn

Wow, it's been a long time since I wrote about that. I originally used a Voyager VBCS150 outdoor B&W camera but later upgraded it to a color RVM-771 color camera from Rear View Safety Systems. If you google that camera, a lot of options come up. Tadi Brothers specializes in cameras and monitors, though there are less expensive units to be had. tadibrothers.com/products/voyager-replacement
Here is a short thread about the camera replacement.
