Canopy Covers for Slideouts

I have a 2013 Phaeton 36gh that we love dearly. Two of our canopy covers always collects water when it rains. It seems they have a lot of slack in them. Is there any way I can tighten the canopies or is this issue just normal? I surely would appreciate your comments. GO ARMY

You didn't say what brand you have but here is a link that might help.

How do I Adjust the Tension on an RV Slideout Topper Awning?

Note that is says you need to get the manuals to do the task. The video doesn't apparently help.
