Nope, I don't. But get a voltmeter and check for yourself -- like $10 at harbor freight. Connect red to positive and black to neg with the key off. Check voltage -- might be like 12.3. Crank the motor and check again, it may look like 13.3 volt -- here's your alternator output. Shut motor off and crank generator. Does the generator charge your chassis battery? Idunno, but now youwill. Now plug the breast in to 110v and see for yosef. Good excuse to drink beer, and the wifey will be so impressed.

c7 cat engine 330 hp

I have a fleetwood discovery with the cat c7 engine 30000 miles on it.I have read alot about this engine being a problem.Should I be worried?I keep the fuel clean and add fuel conditioner at each fill up.What about the fan bearing should this be a concern?

I have run my house batteries dead while I was on a 2 week holiday.Plugged into a 50 amp plug in my shop without a nuetral.Basically I had no shore power.Has anyone had any luck getting dead batteries back to life?

I have been living in my motor home on a job site and I have noticed some of my 120 volt plugs do not work if my inverter is off.It is my understanding that the inverter should be by passed when hooked up to shore power. This shore power is okay it was in a RV park and I did check it with my volt meter.

Cat 7 motors are workhorses. If you take care of it and do your service intervals right you should have no issues. Make sure your slobber tube is long enough to keep the stuff from spraying your radiator etc.

You need to completely remove the batteries and charge them on a strong charger. Dead batteries can be brought back but their life is shortened. Your in-house charger is really a maintainer and not strong enough to bring them back. Take pictures of the wiring before removal to make sure they go back in the same way they were.

Your inverter should be left on. I never turn mine off except during a service event. All 12v goes thru the inverter. It provides battery maintaining for your house batteries. However, if you are parked with no power available then everything needs to be off to avoid killing your house batteries. Even then there are some draws like the CO LP detector.

Lorn, your converter will not charge the chassis batteries. You need to add a battery minder or better, a Trik-LStart unit.

I didn't think it would, so I put a charger on it.
Thanks Lorn
