chassis solenoid

2008 Tiffin Open Road 32BA
We tracked the problem with the house batteries not charging off the alternator to a chassis selinoide. Any ideas as to where this might be available. Would they something that Tiifin might have.

Tks Bob

Amazon also carries the White Rodgers solenoid like the original equipment. The Tiffin store in Red Bay also carries them and sometimes are less expensive.

Selenoid

I have the same problem. Is the solenoid located in the chassis or house battery bay? Its possible one was never installed when my RV was built?

Not sure where it is on the newer models but on our 2007 Phaeton it was in the rearmost passenger side bay mounted on a whiteboard and labeled.

What does the label say on it?

The label is on the whiteboard under it and says "Charge Solenoid" and the other one says "Slide Solenoid". That is IF the label is still there after all these years.

Common Failure Item

I replaced mine in 2020 with the White-Rodgers OEM from Tiffin #7905 ($94 currently) as they had the best price. It lasted less than two years so ordered a decently rated one from Amazon ($40) & so far still working.

Good info from Crusingator on these mechanical solenoids & newer solid-state replacement.

There are upgraded solid-state modules available over what he used. When I was looking the "supply chain" for these was almost non-existent.

Your signature indicates that you have a RED which has the Spyder system. Spyder systems use specific charge solenoids. You must select the right one. Should be located on the back side of the battery disconnect module.
