Chrome Generator Exhaust Pipe Tip

Has anyone found a source for the chrome exhaust tip on the generator exhaust pipe? Mine is badly pitted and I want to spruce it up.

Auto stores and Amazon carry them but they are shorter than the 6" plus tip on my coach

Look at the tips available from Gibson, page 34.

I found one on Amazon, but:

- It's no longer available; and,
- It pitted within a year.

Steel wool cleans up the chrome, but the pits will come back in a month or two. If you find an SS one, please tell us about it!

Do an internet search for restoring chrome. There is a chrome paint that I have used in the past. It works well.

Exhaust tip.

I wonder if he is looking for a straight tip to be used with an exhaust muffler system or a curved down tip that can not be used with an exhaust muffler system?

Summit has 1.5" chrome exhaust tips. A racing exhaust on the generator should be a great spruce up move.

I found this stainless steel tip. No rusting.

I too went with a Gibson polished stainless tip.

Get the Gibson. You will be happy.

The stupid self tapping screws came loose on mine. I tightened them several times, until finally, one of them flat fell out. Bought the Gibson - it uses a clamp-type tightener. And it is stainless.

Regards.

my parents used to detail cars when I was young. If there is still a chrome cleaner, use it with a lite steelwool and it will remove those pits.

I wouldn’t go to the trouble of replacing any exhaust component with anything but stainless.

Thanks ALL.

The Gibson looks like the winna. That said, I want to measure again. I didn't think the pipe was a full 1.5 " (closer to 1.25").

And I was kind when I said pitted. There are big pieces of chrome missing with deep fissures right to the base metal.

The Gibson has a turn-down tip. Has anyone had issues with burning the grass next to the coach?

Both of my tips (generator & AquaHot) have the turn down end. It is warm coming out but not hot enough to burn anything.

My old chrome tip is on the workbench at home. We use the Gen-Turi exhaust stack and it has a short adapter. I don’t need it to be chrome.

21 Accolade, the gen exhaust is at the left rear.
