Cleaning slide carpet

Folks, just a quick question for a suggestion for a carpet cleaner that I can use to clean the slide carpets on our 2016 Allegro Bus 45LP. We’re trading it in on a 2022 Bus and instead of paying a professional carpet cleaner to clean the slide carpets, I want to find a small machine that will do a good job that I can keep around. Any suggestions?

We have a Hoover Max clean that does both hard floors and carpet. They are not cheap but we use it on both the bus carpets and house carpets, along with tile floors. We generally use the hand held attachment for the bus carpets, found it’s easier.
You can rent carpet cleaners at some of the big box stores like Home Depot.

I just use Chemical Guys carpet cleaner and a soft brush for convertible tops. Works great.

Yeah...I would think renting a commercial cleaner would be both overkill and cumbersome for such small areas of carpeting.

I stained the carpet under our dinette & just used the carpet cleaner foam that comes in a spray can & a scrub brush. Came right out.

One of the best foam cleaner that we have found is 409 carpet cleaner. We keep a can in the rig to clean up spills or stains.

Appreciate the feedback. I’m going to get a can of 409 to keep with us in the coach, plus look at the Hoover.

Many thanks,

Jim

If you're considering cleaning machines, Home Depot has a couple of Hoovers available in its "Special Buy of the Day" section. This portable unit is $30 off and they've got a larger unit on sale for $80 off.

On edit: Oops...looks like they just updated their special...it was probably a little too early in the day to check on it. The portable unit is back to $99 ($20 off).
