This thread seems to address exactly what I'm in search of, namely the J1939 connector. I've looked carefully under and around the underside of the dash in front of the driver's seat to no avail. Joepferr found his under an access panel at the right end of the dash. I see no access on the top of the dash or in front of the passenger seat, where there is a drawer for the passenger. Can anyone shed light on where next to look?

On my 07 Phaeton, there is a plug at the rear of the coach inside the double swinging doors.
