Coleman Mach 8 A/C

I have to replace my front AC and this model does not appear to be available. Anyone having this problem and has anyone got any info as to when this AC will be available?

GULP..... I replaced both of my fairly new Mach 8 units ( and new control panels) last year in order to install newer heat pumps. I let them sit in my garage for several months before .....well, who was to know!

Traveler, I ordered one of those that Solo has linked. PPL gave great service and I had it in less than a week. It is not a heat pump and it doesn't have the condensation pump but that can be swapped over from the old unit very easily. The new Mach 8 Plus is much quieter than even the second generation Mach 8.

A non heat pump unit can not be changed as it's not a separate pump. It's simply a reversing valve integral to the refrigerant tubing. The condensation pump is an easy switch. I opted to replace our front A/C with the non heat pump since we don't use the HP on that one anyway.

Lt Dan, to make sure my non tech mind understands, I can get the unit w/o the heat pump and transfer the condensation pump from the old unit to the new unit and all will be well.

Sounds great!

Does anyone have the part number for the unit without the heat pump?

If one is in need of a new unit, why would they care what color it is? Unless it's a completely different mounting configuration, couldn't the old shroud be used to retain the original color? (Plus, a can of spray paint on the new shroud would also do the trick).

I see on the PPL website that the white (out-of-stock) unit was offered at almost $200 less than the black unit. That's incentive enough, eh?
