Cook Top

I have a 2008 Allegro Bay 37 QDB and I am unable to use the cook top.
I can hear the sparks but nothing is happening.
I am not smelling gas either; is there a shut off valve that I need to manually turn on?
What could be causes for not working?

Is the propane leak detector turned on in the coach? It should be mounted pretty close to the floor.

If those are on, it will take a bit before the propane will reach the stove top.

For your own safety, I suggest you find the shut-off valve right away.

If you can hear the spark, but not see it at the burners you may have some wires disconnected from the igniters or bad insulation on the wires. We had that problem with our 2013 Adventurer. The wires for the piezo electric starter to each of the igniters lie in the metal pan below the burners. The insulation on ours were defective. Every time you turned the starter knob the spark would arc between the pan and the wire. The current never got to the igniter. If I recall correctly a new set of wires cost around $20.00.

On Edit: In our coach once the gas is turned on at the tank it usually takes about 2 minutes for it to reach the burners. It could be more or less in your coach depending on the distance between the range and the tank. Our tank is at the right rear of the coach, and the range is in about the center (front to rear) and on the left side of the coach.

Can you light a burner with a match? If yes, the problem is with the piezo electric igniter.

If no, the problem is with the propane flow.

Have you used any appliances on propane prior to this?
