Couch Removal

Our 2016 Phaeton 40AH was blessed/cursed with an L couch. It looks good, but has terrible seating, and keeps popping open during travel. Thought it would be nice to have the hidden inflatable bed too, but we've never had occasion to use it. So...I have a couple of questions about removal/replacement:

1. Has anyone removed one of these themselves? Not having a shop do it.
2. If so, does it come out in pieces through the door?

or...

3. Does a slide have to come out to remove it?
4. Would like to replace it with a Love-seat type sofa (possibly with a bed in it) and another recliner chair. Suggestions for comfortable ones? Recliner should be electric.

Thanks

Removed the L-sofa of my Red 33aa and replaced it the RecPro Charles 94" Powered Double RV Wall Hugger Recliner Sofa RV Loveseat just a couple of months ago. The sofa comes apart in pieces when removing the foldout bed frame. Some screws hold it in place in the floor. Open the slides to get a better work space and it can be done easily.
Installation of the new love seat configuration I chose work well and matched the width almost perfect.

Thanks Joachim. Starting with the fold out bed makes it less daunting of a task.

Yeah, RV furniture looks good in the showroom, but few of them are very comfortable on the long haul.

We wanted to do the same thing, but the furniture we found was too deep to fit on the slide. So here we sit...

There is a very nice place in Junction City, OR called Countryside Interiors, who specialize in RV interior stuff from cabinets to furniture and upholstery. We discovered that a) there are manufacturers other than Flexsteel, and b) there actually are comfortable pieces of RV furniture.
