Davis Motorhomes, Memphis TN, SOLD
Davis Motorhomes in Memphis, TN, has been sold to Great American RV.
We had a great purchasing experience with Davis and fortunately had made a decision that this was our last coach.
So the Big 2 is now down to the Big 1 which probably means Big 0.

Ouch! I guess that only leaves Sherman RV.

I've always heard Beaver coach in Bend Or. is good and will deal so may be they can fill the gap.

I would be surprised in they were giving discounts on factory orders like the former Big 3 were.
I personally received a 28.8% discount from Davis on my coach. Sherman was actually better at 29% but I was receiving better personal attention from the Davis sales rep, Bill Hardy, on some additional services.
However now that Ingram and Davis have sold out, and Sherman has been quickly reaching their allotted number of coaches they can sell, dealers like Beaver may become relatively competitive in the future for west coast buyers.

Just ordered an open road from Davis at 27.1% off. I priced about 12 different dealers. Sherman had none available. Ingram was 12k higher. Another dealer in Alabama who is know to have decent pricing was 17k higher! Their excuse was we cannot give good service at any lower of a price- I laugh and said well 17k buys a lot of toys and servicing at an adult entertainment club..
Beaver said they couldn’t come close to Davis. The next best was kings camper in WI. They were about 4K higher but were very nice to speak to. I think they have a full tank of fuel too. But TN (Davis) was closer to where I need to go and Lower priced. Hopefully they don’t try to unwind my deal and play games at closing.
Sucks the big 3 is definitely now the big 1 and I’m sure that will raise prices at Sherman.
We will need to wait for the next buyers market for a reset of the industry’s pricing.

I think that GA was formerly known as Dixie RV. If that's the case, I will NEVER deal with them based on a very bad personal experience. To quote another poster, "if my coach broke down in front of one of their stores, I would pay good money to have it towed elsewhere".

I would never buy from Dixie (GA) just due to the name change. I have a feeling the name was dropped due to political correctness and shedding another southern confederate type name. I now understand why the salesperson at Davis was pushing to have me place the order before July 1st to keep it on the old books. Hopefully the Davis family keep the money from my sale and the PDI is still good-maybe the new owners will fill up the tanks.

You are correct about GA formerly being Dixie Rv. Their name change announcement in Jan 2021 proclaimed it is still the same owner (Greg Lala) and staff and management all remain in place.
FWIW, I would not shop their either-also from personal experience.

we've bought from sherman twice and had very good experience both times... they had a coach i was interested in... i called... already sold.. but salesperson while friendly as before let me know 2 things.
1... they had filled all their allotments on many tiffin models and
2... they were changing their pricing structure... and that i could not expect the same pricing as before...
i'll bet sherman knew the davis deal was in the works...

It would be interesting to see how much it changed. I would say much it related to the fact that it’s a sellers market and they are allocated X numbers and still need to make the same money when they had previously more they could sell to hit that number. When I was pricing newmars, I spoke to 2 dealers who promised certain discounts and now due to being limited on numbers of units they could buy, the pricing jumped by almost 7 percent- 27% off on a gas coach down to 20%. Due to that, I didn’t buy a newmar.
