Def
Is it me or did tiffin put the def tank on the wrong side when you pull up to the def at the pump. I have to pull on the left side of the def pump causing me to take up two pumps.

Every coach I've seen with a DEF tank has it on the right (passenger) side. Why, I don't know.

I think it just might be due to the fact that the drivers side has the radiator, fan, etc and that does not leave much room for something like a def tank. Speaking here of side rad configuration. Don't know about rear rad models.

Because when you pull into the def at the pump the pump is on the left side. So you have to take up two lanes.

Mirbigfella don't you have a fuel fill from both sides? I'm unfamiliar with the RED. I have a fuel fill on both so there is no wrong side. Admittedly, I don't have a def tank either.

I was looking at a Winnebago Tour and an Entegra at the Tampa show. The Tour had the DEF on the driver's side. Entegra is thinking about relocating the DEF tank to the driver's side. I think the trucking chassis and the RV chassis engineers didn't talk to each other. There are obviously more trucks on the road than RVs. It only makes sense to have the DEF pump on the driver's side. Maybe they thought us RVers would pump diesel into the DEF tank.

Yes I have a fuel fill on both sides. But the def tank is on the passenger side. That's why I think they put the def on the wrong side.

At the FMCA Rally in Brooksville, FL - Freightliner CC exhibited their tag axle rail. The DEF tank fill was located on the street side.
A new Volvo tractor here at the KiKi RV Park has it's DEF fill on the street side.
It would be "convenient" if they could standardize on where the fill should be installed but I expect in some RV applications that it may depend on floorplan.
In speaking with Pilot/Flying J personnel at the Tampa Supershow, they are installing DEF tanks in ground. I understand that they are also fitting the tanks with some kind of mixing vanes in the tank to keep the fluid from settling out I expect and to mitigate weather variables.

Are the def pumps only on the driver's side? I apologize, I'm woefully ingnorant in these new "improvements". DW would probably point out many other areas where she believes that it also true.

So I understand , there is a pump at stations that just pump diesel fuel WITH DEF ? or is there a pump that just pumps DEF and NO diesel fuel ?
Having said that if its a pump that dispenses Diesel fuel WITH DEF how much per gallon over the non DEF diesel fuel ??
DEF costs are all over the place but Wal mart has been the cheapest I have found
