Rough way to make an entry into RVing and the forum, but welcome!

The intent is to build your own simulator vs purchasing but there are numerous threads here that may point you in that direction. Google "def simulator and irv2".

To build: https://defsim.myervin.com/def-sensor-simulator. A different plug is required depending on whether you're on a Spartan or Freightliner.

If your existing DEF sensor is bad (fault codes), recommend replacing it since you'll have to anyway and then build your simulator for when you need it to get you to a repair facility in the future. I don't know that anyone has a ready supply of them for sale, and there may be, but building your own may be faster and definitely cheaper.

Good luck

Welcome here, for your first post, I 'll try to say this easily.........
The gentleman that invented and built the website and shared all the information to build the simulator "For Free" are on IRV2 everyday............
and offered this invention to the RV community for free to keep all of us from getting stranded along the road, again for free..........
And some found this non protected invention a place to make profit for free .........modern day Piracy..........
So, the chance of getting your question answered here I would say is slim......and for a really good reason..........
60 bucks........you can build one vs paying 400.............

Hi Kevin, just so you are aware of a couple of things before you go any further, first what is the year that your engine was built and what’s the brand, model and year of your coach?
Second, what is making you think your DEF sensor is bad or failing? What symptoms and most importantly what fault codes are you seeing? Not every DEF problem is due to a bad sensor.
Third, if you do have a sensor problem and need a simulator, you can build one yourself for well under $100.
The original how-to website has been taken down but it is archived at https:\\defsimulator.wordpress.com. All the instructions, parts lists and sources, etc. are still valid. Obviously you can also buy one pre-built from several sources but just be aware that the significanty higher price is not due to any improvement in design. They all use the same software and hardware designs offered on the original website for free so you are just paying at least a couple of hundred bucks just to have someone else build one for you.
If you have questions just post here, we’re happy to try and help.
Good luck

Good advice and welcome.
Just an added suggestion, add the year, make and model of your coach in your signature , it will help to get information back to you faster.

Archer was very humble in his response as he's one of the inventors of the original DEF Sensor Simulator and extremely knowledgeable in all things DEF and then some.

I can take no credit for what Archer and team accomplished. However, I will say building the DSS is a rather simple task with their detailed instructions if you have the inclination to do so.

Sam

We are just back on the road after being down for 2 months due to the DEF system. Tiffin kept shipping the wrong parts to the Cummins shop doing the work. We are told that DEF is no long a problem as the parts are readily available, If you consider two months and over $10,000 in labor and parts readily available I guess it is no longer a problem. This is the second time we have done this. First under warranty but not this time. Now that the DEF system is fixed we are running well again but most likely switching to a Gasser. or a Fiver or something different. The sensor simulator would have been a great answer.
