We recently purchased a new to us 2010 Red 38 QBA. We also got "last years" bugs on the Diamond Shield in the deal. After cleaning the old bodies off the coach, I note that they managed to "etch" the Diamond Shield film. I have tried "protect all" and "Meguiers ultimate detail wax" on it trying to restore it. Has anyone found a product that will restore the film?

I doubt that it can be if the actual surface is broken or etched.

Try 303 (which is what you need to put on it anyway). Not sure it will help much with the pitting but it should stop any further problems - and make it easier to get the bugs off.

Diamond shield does have a warranty (can't remember how long it is) but you might get some relief.

Nothing can make it better because I have tried everything anyone ever thought to suggest already. Mine is a 2009 and I worked hard to get bugs off immediately when we stopped. Looked pretty good until... I forgot to do it after one short trip last year. It doesn't take long if you leave them on for the bug juice to eat into the DS as I found out. I also have the start of the mold under the DS around the headlights which is awful looking. I thought about replacing the DS (we are way out of warranty) but there is the chance the paint will come off with the removal of the DS. One guy paid $1,300 to remove it and repaint his.
