Dicor?

Is dicor the proper sealant on Tiffin’s fiberglass roofs?

Use CSL, do not use Dicor, from experience.

Not that I need it right now but where do you buy it ? I searched online and found nothing other than the manufacturer and when you go to the "where can you buy it" it doesn't tell you where it just has you make out a request. The request you had to (required) fill out Company and type of business.

Thanks all for the info. My manual doesn’t mention CSL at all - it thinks I have a rubber roof! Keep getting frustrated with the poor documentation in the manual. I’m an owner of a commercial roofing company so I know how important it is to match the manufacturer’s specs - wished they did a better job of sharing them or maybe I just need to learn where to look.

I ordered a supply from Tiffin - $8.95 a tube $18 shipping.

Thanks again.

Geocell is silicone also. It is what Winnebago uses new and for repairs. DO NOT put Dicore on a coach that was built with silicone base sealant. It will crack and crumble and won't stick. Geocell has a complete range from self leveling to high adhesive.

I've been in the insurance biz for a long time. I have one, independent, father and son shop that only repairs, does not sell RV's. I go to him for all my questions.

My Winnebago is at the factory service center tight now and Geocell is what they are using to reseal my roof.

Most RV dealers that have stores carry the pro flex.

Dicor

If I remove all of the old caulk, clean it with mineral spirits and alcohol, why can't I use Dicor?

Because it won't stick it will crack and it will leak. There are tons of products out there better than Dicor. They just have the best marketing campaign.

Check what your manufacture uses, and if it's silicon base, there is a reason why they go that route, and do the same.

Take your time, wait for the right product, spend the extra if you need to, seal it right the first time or you will will find leaks, after it is too late and the damage is done.

It is not impossible to clean away the silicone residue, but it is not easy. Sikaflex 715 is also a possibility. You can get it at Camping World and perhaps even Lowes. If you really like silicones, Dow 790 and Dow 795 are great products; however, they are harder to find.

Nobody has mentioned that silicone will not stick to cured silicone so what ever you use, the area should be cleaned throughly.
When I installed our Dish Travler, I used Dicor and it worked just fine. It’s the third one I have installed and never had a problem.
