I have a new 2021 Allegro Red 33aa with digital dashboard. After driving about 2 hours at 70 MPH, the cruise control drops out and will not re-engage. After about another 10 minutes of driving, the check engine light comes on and ABS COMM FAIL displays. After another 10 minutes the dashboard goes “haywire.” The tach, speedometer, DEF gauge, temperature gauge, and oil pressure gauge all go to zero. Finally, a LOW VOLTAGE error appears (the spyder control reports normal voltage).

It’s been in the Freightliner shop 4 times for a total of 47 days. Each time I take it in they return it, but the malfunction repeats again after 2 hours of driving at 70 MPH.

Freightliner thinks it’s something to do with J1939 network or module. But they can’t find anything.

I’m close to hiring a consumer attorney to file suit to get Freightliner’s attention.

Any suggestions or thoughts?

Oh yes. Both Tiffin and Freightliner are well aware of the problem.

I personally would do everything I could to keep TMH on the case and forget about "lawyering up". I think that you will be much happier with the results. If you are a reasonable person, TMH WILL take care of you.

X2. Bay Diesel is an authorized FL shop. I would call ahead and let them work it out between FL and TMH. No FL service center anywhere knows more about Tiffin coaches on FL chassis. Also, your coach will be accessible while you are there unlike most places where it disappears while they are working on it.

Freightliner replaced Viper module which is the computer that runs dashboard display. I will test drive tomorrow to see if this solved the problem. I will post results after test drive.

On my 2014, one of the units went out. Ordered a new one from Tiffin. Worked just fine and it did not get near as hot. I did not have to replace any of the far end units next to the tv’s. Jeff
