Our table is a little cantankerous to lift as well, but we’ve been managing and haven’t looked at greasing it. The lock bar on ours was hard to get flipped over into place and wouldn’t go all the way as flush as it should be. I stuck my head under to look at how it was locking in place and noticed the bar will slide in and out of the brackets that hold it to the bottom of the table and the lever that was locking into the notch on the table wasn’t lignin up correctly which would leave it locked, but not really. I had to move the lock bar back so that it was centered in the notch and it doesn’t have a problem locking anymore, but it does still slide in and out a little, so have to keep an eye on it. My kids try to “help” in the mornings and we have to double check they get it locked in correctly before we end up with breakfast in our laps if it gives way.
The slider mechanism is pretty much the standard we’ve had on all of our different RVs over the years, so not sure why this particular table is harder to return to table mode from the bed platform.
The only other table options I’ve seen are the ones that slide in and out where the table has chairs instead of the sleeper dinette or the two piece tables that have a pole mount in the middle and the table pulls on and off and the pole is removable for when you want to make the bed.
