Dishwasher or no dishwasher?

Hello all!! We are super excited to join the Tiffin family - we are placing our order for the 2021 Phaeton 37bh tomorrow!! This forum helped us narrow it down to your new home away from home. I’m still undecided on the dishwasher. I hate doing dishes so the choice seems obvious, but I do like the pull out drawers and trash can! I guess I’m just looking for some feedback as to whether the dishwasher is a must have. It’s small, but most of the time it will just be my hubby and I.

I love my dishwasher (2019 37AP Bus). It works well and I even use it if boondocking because I think it uses less water than hand washing. I'm full time, so space is at a premium, but I prefer the dishwasher to the space.

Complete waste of space.

We bought our coach used & I was on the fence about it having the dishwasher. But just as our prior Bounder came with a washer I wasn't sure I'd use, I found I liked having it, used it often & I like having the dishwasher in our Phaeton. I'm not having to do dishes by hand every night like I used to & my counter isn't cluttered with a dish drainer or drying mat. I just hide the dirty stuff in the dishwasher & run it every other night.

My DW does a lot of internet surfing to get ideas, recommendations, and reviews on how to make RVing more enjoyable and efficient. One of her early conclusions was that using paper plates, disposable utensils, plastic wrap, and aluminum foil was best for efficiency, convenience, less use of onboard water, and not filling the waste tanks too quickly.

The only downside is adding a little more to the landfills, but for us that's just one plastic grocery bag (not necessarily full) per day on the road. And we supply our own bags.

Our vote is that the space would be far more valuable for storage than for a dishwasher.

DW was not on our must have list. Bought used and the coach had one already.

Now on our must have list...

I haven't tried to order a DW from a vendor for a while. How does that work today? *Lol*

We also would have never wanted a dishwasher. We are full time and the storage seemed more important. Our current coach had one when we purchased it and we planned on removing it. But since it was already there we used it until we had a chance to remove it and my wife decided it was worthwhile.

We just ordered a new coach and it will have a dishwasher.

Welcome aboard to the land of fun and divided opinions. 😂

You hate doing dishes, so it's a no brainer. Go for it. Otherwise you will regret it as long as you own the coach.

Love your rv. Wish you many happy and safe miles.

We have a 37PA on order and decided to order the dishwasher. You loose a little bit of storage but we plan on spending several months in the MH and at the end of the day felt like we should have it

We didn't have one on the first coach. We have one in this coach, and now we wouldn't have a coach without one.

We have DW in our '19 40IH. Have used it about 6 times in 1.5 years. It does a good job and only uses about 1.6 gal of water. Cycle times are very long. We currey use DW for storage. We are split on whether we would order DW again.

We vote for having the Dishwasher. It's nice to not have to wash everything in the sink, and its nice to put the dirty dishes in there and run it once every two or three days.
