doesn't qualify as an upgrade so I'll post it here

On my last trip, on the way home in a round-a-bout, I clipped a fence post with the exhaust tip. While this did nothing in terms of affecting the engine, my type A kicks in and I need to fix. I ordered the replacement from Tiffin and proceeded to swap it out.

Well, not so fast said the mechanical Gods... There are a couple set screws and clamp and you would think it would be easy peasy.

For the life of me, I couldn't get the old one off. I tapped and tapped and went all around, expanded the places where I could, but couldn't get it off.

After fussing with it for about an hour I decided to spray it with this stuff I use to clean my guns, Break Free. I let it sit for about 10 mins and WaLa, it tapped right out.

Just wanted to pass this on for others if they want to replace their exhaust tips.

If others have better solutions, please post.

And I thought I was OCD.
Nice work by the way. Considering how little the exhaust tip sticks out, you got away with minimal damage.

Would also like to know about the trim ring. I guess we could have one made by Summit Products. They made me some step risers using my measurements.

From Tiffin

when I was at Red Bay, I was in Allen Bridges office and I saw it on his desk. He said they were contemplating making/selling them. He gave it to me then.

I would call them and see if they are still making them.

That side outlet exhaust can allow rainwater to get and fill the system while parked. I added a turn down after the 2nd exhaust failure caused the bedroom closet floor to catch fire. of course, the turn down make it stick out even further.

You must have had a strange exhaust system, we’ve had this coach for 7 years with no problem with the exhaust.

Just want to say that Allen Bridges, VP of service at the time I dealt with him is one GREAT guy to deal with. He and Lee saved my bacon big time.

I like that chrome ring, hope they decided to sell them.

PB Blaster works pretty good on rusted/frozen nuts & bolts also. It's almost like a heavier consistency WD40.

Ok, so now I had to confirm that the pitch was good and no water can get in while raining....

Just did the same to my coach today. Used a 4in stainless turn down and you are right about that pipe not wanting to come off! I used a cutoff wheel to add another slip joint in it. Once removed I shortened the tailpipe 6-7 inches so it didn’t stick out too far. Like that beauty ring! Check the support bracket. My screw was missing.

Poster haynes does not have Tiffin product. Don't know why it was even posted on Tiffin forum.

Well that looks super cool coming out of the body. Looks like I need to make an adjustment to my Dutchie. Just when I thought it was custom enough. Thanks A Lot
