Wink Dometic basement fridge/freezer

Good evening, I'm looking for feedback on the Dometic basement fridge/freezer. All feedback good or bad is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Our 2019 Dutch Star has the CF 80 which has worked flawless for us. We have owned the rig for just about a year now and since we are full timers, the CF 80 works 24/7 with frozen food in it at all times. I keep the temp set at 5deg F and we have a temp remote we keep in it to monitor temps so we can salvage the food should it fail for some reason. According to the remote probe the temp holds between about 4 and 7 or 8 degs. IMHO it is a nice and reliable freezer.

I agree with DutchStar. We have one that came with our Bus. We primarily use it as a refrigerator. When we are in one place for a while, I will remove it from the bay and place it on a furniture dolly so that I can move it around easily

In our 14 bus ours has worked great but we did have an issue with the plugs coming loose and the unit loosing power. After trying a few wire ties and that not working well I finally used a bit of caulk on the plugs going into the unit itself and that has solved the issue. What I did was plug the unit in and then put a bit of caulk between the plug and the sides of the slot around each plug.

Will be able to remove the plugs fairly easily if needed but now don't have to worry about them coming loose. We full time so always have it loaded in the freezing mode with lot's of good beef, pork, chicken and fish.

Basement freezer

We got the basement freezer with our Bus. I thought it would be a great idea for taking frozen foods on a long trip. But we are just using it as a refrigerator mostly for cold drinks. I can now take a case or two of beer and soda, water, champagne, etc. without taking up a bunch of space in the residential refer. IT WORKS GREAT! I set the temp to 38 degrees since the inside runs just a bit warmer. I keep an opener in it also. Good investment.
