DPF Particle Filter Bake vs replace vs Codes

We replaced the DEF head about 10K miles ago June 2024 and I'm getting intermittent error codes . According to NIRVC none of these are related to the DEF Head failing.

DEF Error codes
3720-15 DPF Ash load and you need to perform a special reset called Aftertreatment Maintenance Filter Installation for these fault codes to go inactive.

115435-11 unknown

4331-18 "Engine - Aftertreatment 1 SCR Actual Dosing Reagent Quantity. Data Below Normal Operating Range - Moderate"

While in Phoenix at the NIRC they recommend going to Velocity and having the DPF baked or cleaned .

Anyone have any input on what might cause this ? When stopping for fuel or pull into a campground to setup I always put the engine in Hi-Idle 900 RPM.

Anyone have their unit "cleaned" or Replaced? or any cleaning additive safe to use?

I just got the 3720-15 code to. No other codes. Check engine light comes on about once every hour or two and never more than 30 sec. Would be interested to know your resolution. Just turned 98k miles.

Not another DEF part to keep on the bus.

Not sure what you are asking but the 3720 is saying that your Diesel Particulate Filter is showing restricted flow and needs attention (forced regen, baking or replacement) the 4331 relates to the DEF fluid injector performance. The 4331 might be related to the 3720 if the reduced flow rate is affecting the ECM’s ability to achieve its expected performance target but it’s hard to say. Cummins doesn’t make public exactly how the ECM manages the SCR performance. It could also be a bad or clogged injector, failing DEF pump, pinched hose, etc.
The 115435 is a reserved proprietary code and is most likely due to some kind of TPMS issue but that’s just a guess.

Archer2 thanks for your input. After much reading and study I concur. I want to try the fuel additive first , if that doesn't show results then escalate the the clean/replace the DPF unit.

I'm calling Velocity Truck Center in Phoenix tomorrow to learn how more about this service work and prepare for a bank loan....

You’re welcome but I don’t know what fuel additive you’re considering but I’m very doubtful that any additive is going to clean an already restricted DPF. It might have some effect going forward in keeping a fresh filter cleaner longer.
Good luck

Archer I was considering this product XADO Xtreme DPF Cleaner for Diesel Engine of Heavy Duty Machinery - Diesel Particulate Filter Restorer Additive

This seems like a lower cost test than $1200 DPF replacement.

Available on Amazon for $28.40

I know I know snake oil never works unless your the snake...
