Driver side mirror wobble

2017 Open Road 36LA driver side top mirror wobbles terribly while driver. How do I tighten mirror? External part of mirror seems firm.

Look on the arm below where the mirror head attaches for some Allen head screws. Try to tighten them. That show my Winnebago was, anyway.

I had to cut away some of the plastic camera mount to access more set screws. There are Allen wrenches that allow a "wobble" which may work.

When I took mine apart, I found a ball and socket affair that hold the adjustable mirror. Plastic, of course. The socket no longer holds the ball (mirror part) tightly, so it rattles. And the only fix was to replace that whole assembly.

BTW, the mirror is partially glued to a plate which has the ball on the back, and you can Google how to get all that apart.

The cost of the parts led me to live with the wobble so far...but you have inspired me to fix it.

Best of luck!

Tiffin sells plastic clips that go between mirror and housing. They are cheap and usually requires 4-6 per mirror.

We are on our third Tiffin. First RED Velvac mirrors vibrated terrible. Thought ok just got a bad pair. We trade every 4 years and purchased a Phaeton and had the same problem, mirrors vibrated terrible. Tried everything to stop to no avail. Purchased BUS which we now have. I have come to the logical conclusion that Velvac mirrors are pure JUNK !

I have to agree. My 2018 Winnebago Forza 38W had this issue bought the clips put them and though it helped some they still vibrated enough to be a PITA. Now my 2016 Phaeton 44OH we picked up in April has the same issue particularily on the Drivers side and iboth sides have clips in them. For now I just have to live with it since the time you the parts and spend the time rebuilding it you'll might as well buy a new mirror, IMO. Though in both cases there's no quarantee that it will be fixed. I've though of injecting some expansion foam back there to see if it might stop the wobble but it hasn't got to that point yet....
