If you would add model etc of your coach to your signature it would help all to answer. Fairly easy to do. Jk

I do see lint in the vent hose on my home dryer, which is in the basement and has a vent tube and cover to the outside. I've often wondered that too, as at home, I take the cover off and run a shop vac hose down into it and pull an amazing amount of lint out.

I have an combo washer and dryer unit, the manual and the service dept said there was only the washer clean out, nothing for the dryer. I didnt believe it so I went looking, there was a cupboard on top of the unit, i removed all my crap i had in there. The bottom of the cupboard the board was split in half with a so it could be removed. in behind the washer there is in fact a dryer clean out. I was real lucky as it would appear the former owners knew nothing of it either. Alot of lint. its a pain but i clean it everytime. it was a fire waiting to happen.

Dryer Exhaust LINT
Hi, thanks for posting, and my original intention was,
1. To learn where/how to check for lint buildup and clean it out.
2. To make others aware of this fire hazzard if attention is not given to this.
Thanks again
Jerry

Our dryer faces sideways, relative to the coach, back of the dryer against the driver side wall. There is a very short hose between the back of the dryer and the coach wall. There is a two-part vent in the coach wall. On the outside of the coach, there is a rain cover which is held in place with some screws inside the bottom corners. The top had a silicone bead holding it to the wall and preventing water intrusion. You have to use a knife to carefully separate the rain cover from the coach wall. Inside that is a plastic flapper, also screwed to the wall from the outside. The flapper has a circular flange extending into the coach wall about 2-3 inches, onto which the vent hose is secured by tape. I used real duct tape (the aluminum kind used on hvac ducts) when I replaced it.
So, if you want to remove the flapper to clean the vent hose you will have to remove the rain cover, pull the flapper out through the coach wall, separate it from the vent hose, clean the hose, tape the hose to the flapper, push the flapper back into place from outside the coach, and connect it, then replace the rain hood and connect it, using silicone around the top and sides. A bit of work, but after you have done it once, it is a piece of cake to do it again.
And regarding the lint filter - ours definitely has a lint filter in it. It is in the bottom of the door opening. A couple of finger holes are in it allowing you to pull it out when the dryer door is open.
Hope this helps.
Regards.
Chuck

Well, as I posted in #12 my intention was to pick up a boroscope which I did for about $70. It has a 16.5' cable with a dual head setup. Bluetooth to an app seems to work great. Now I just need to get my coach back from the dealer doing some warranty work. Should have it in the next week hopefully and I'll try it out.
