Electric Cord in Electrical Hook-up Compartment

I have a question concerning the dangling plug in electrical cord in 50 AMP electric hook up compartment on my 34 Allergro Open Road Red. There are two cords hanging from the right side top of the compartment, one with a small box, which I know to be the engine heater for cold weather ops, the other has a normal grounded plug, which I can not find any information in my manual for its function.
Can someone tell me what it is for? I think it might be for charging the chassis batteries, but before I plug it into the provided 110 receptacle. Thanks, in advance for the help.

Dave,
I have a 2012 Allegro RED and just looked in the electric bay to confirm what I thought. Look closely at "the box", as you put it, because I think that is the Battery Minder and should be always plugged in, unless you have some reason otherwise. The 120VAC grounded plug is the engine pre-heat, and it is to be plugged in only when you need it, i.e. when the OAT is below appx 40 degrees F. prior to starting.
A wonderful source of information about any Tiffin MH is the TiffinRVNetwork. It is 99% Tiffin owners and if folks there doesn't know the answer to a Tiffin question, they will direct you to someone who does.

Thanks to both of you for your help. The only problem is, when I plug in the battery monitor (if that is what it is) it drains the chassis batteries when not plugged into power. Does that make sense?

Without going out to the coach for the manuals to reference for the details, I'll just say: Yes the Battery Minder will put a small drain on the batteries if you are not connected to shore power. There is a in-line fuse and holder on the line going to the Battery Minder plug-in. If you remove that fuse, it will disconnect the BM from the batteries. Just unplugging the BM will not disconnect it.
