Entry door lock secure??

We’re buying a 2015 33AA...noticed that it doesn’t have a “dead bolt” like our previous motor home. Is the standard lock good enough?
Thanks.

Like other locks, it is good enough to keep honest people from wandering in.

Deadbolt or not, most RV doors can be opened as easily using a large screwdriver as with the key.

The regular door lock is common and all service techs/dealers keys will open it (along with anyone else that has a copy) the only one off key would be the dead bolt. Surprised you don't have one. Whenever dropping off for service they always ask us to leave dead bolt unlocked so the techs can get in.

My bet is that you do have a deadbolt. There's the "residential" deadbolt that we all know... we had one of those on our '14 Phaeton. Then there's the RV deadbolt... it is similar to the residential deadbolt, just a much smaller version. Where the residential deadbolt is very thick, the RV deadbolt is only about 1/4 inch square (or maybe 1/2 inch). If you have two key locks on your door, you have a deadbolt. The bottom lock is the "regular" lock, nothing more than a salesman lock on Tiffin as they are generally keyed the same, then the upper lock would be the deadbolt. Again, a bar that goes from the door into the door jamb, just a much smaller version.
