Fiberglass Roof Protection
Is 303 Protector as good as waxing for the fiberglass roof? I used 303 on my sailboat, but not for the fiberglass. Excellent for hypalon inflatable boats, it does not dissolve the glue.

I've used 303 on roof and it appears OKbut needs recleaning/retreating at about 6-month intervals. That said, I wanted to try waxing to get some longevity. I waxed the roof (much harder btw) with an auto paste wax but ran out 3/4 thru the job. The last 1/4 I did with 303. That was 3 months ago and so far the waxed areas appear to be standing up better.
I still 303 ALL the plastic on the roof (AC covers, skylight, vent covers)

If you ever get in the Galveston TX area, contact Carlos that owns Royal Mobile RV detail.
He is available at all the rv parks in that area.
He washed and waxed (ceramic) our motorhome and did a great job. Five guys in two vans worked for about three hours HAND polishing our 37' motorhome.
Did a great job for $385.00
That included the fiberglass roof as well.
Good Luck,

I went with 303 on the plastic and Meguires cleaner wax on the fiberglass. Quite a bit of caulking smears to deal with later.
Waxing the rest with Meguires. $385 is looking pretty good about now. One side to go.

Once a year I wash the roof with car wash soap and add one cup of white vinegar to the bucket.
After it dries wipe on Zep High Traffic floor finish. This seals the roof after the vinegar strips any oxidation.
Turns out good and the roof sheds water like wax paper.

I do the same thing. Seems to work really well and easy to apply.

I use 303 twice a year. Goes on quick (I don’t polish it out) and is very easy to apply by putting the 303 in a heavy duty spray bottle and using a long handle pad.

I haven't tried yet (waiting for an empty Swifter bottle), but I read that you can fill a swifter bottle with 303 or the wax of your choice, and apply and buff with the swifter wet jet. Sounds much easier than hands and knees

Sounds like a plan. Even though I washed the roof first, the Cleaner Wax took a lot of rubbing to get stains out. Also have some clear coat over spray that makes it harder to wax. Good non-skid though. Swifter mop and 303 seems like a good maintenance from here on.

I used the Meguiar's #50 cleaner wax but an inexpensive random orbit polisher from Amazon made it go pretty quick and easy, although admittedly my rig is only 25 feet.
Polisher is the red thing on the right. Pic is after cleaner/wax followed by Meguiar's Flagship RV & Marine Wax (liquid).

303
I have used 303 for my RV Roofs for almost 20 years. After using wax products on boat deck, the decks turned into slip and slide. Almost went overboard. Your fiberglass roof would do the same with wax. 303 has UV protection and is not as slippery as wax. I highly recommend 303. It is not a cleaner, but I use a spray bottle and mop it dry with towels. Looks great and has the UV protection for the edge paint as well. I am more particular with my beautiful Tiffin paint but that's another story.

I wash my roof quarterly, then use 303 (Unless I am near salt water then will wash immediately after returning home). I take the 303 bottle and a Swiffer stick with a microfiber towel attached. I simply spray the 303 and "mop" it on with the Swiffer stick. When washing, and applying 303, I always ensure my feet are in the middle third of the roof for safety. The brush I use on the roof is a long handle one that can extend up to 8 feet. The Swiffer stick extends to about 5 feet.
