Fireplace heater smells... Bad!

The fireplace in our 2018 35QBA suddenly started smelling pretty bad, like something was burning. This was despite our running it for several hours the previous day, seemingly dispelling my initial thought that dust or something was on the heater elements.
I would appreciate any advice/suggestions on what it might be, as well as how I can disassemble the unit to check?
Thanks in advance.
AJ.

Remove wood like frame from around fireplace. It is lightly stapled . You will see several screws holding it to case. remove from housing look at back to find fan/element cover. see whats burning. If you have a pet, might need to clear pet hair and dust from unit.

Good thing to check. Had a similar problem with a space heater at home. It started having a burning smell. Opened it up, and there was plenty of lint and some cat hairs. Quick clean-up, all good.

I hope this is the fix for the OP's MH.

Does it have a remote control to shut it off? If so, chase that down to be sure it has not overheated.
