Fit through 13' door?

Wondering if I will have a problem getting my coach through a 13' high door. The brochure for my coach says we are 12' 10" in height, which I know is less than 13', but just barely. So wondering if anybody else is putting their coach in a garage with a door that is only 13' high?

Assuming if I need to, I can dump the air and gain a few inches there, but A) will need to make sure I remember to do that going in and out, and B) will need to make sure that I'm completely lined up with the door before I dump the air so that I'm not trying to turn while the air is dumped.

Thoughts?

Keith

Is the approach to the door level ? Is there 13' of clearance when the door is up ?

1st things you need to do, given you already know things are going to be tight are 1) verify that you've actually got a min. of 13' all the way across your door opening and 2) verify (measure) what the highest point of your MH actually is. As tight as things are, guessing is a bad strategy.

Is the actual clearance 13 ft? Door opener? Handles? Is the slab inside the doorway higher than the bottom edge of the door opening?

Grab a ladder and get a friend to climb it so he can watch as you back slowly through the door. Be ready to step on the brake if he yells STOP!

My experience is if you don’t have at least 6” of slack between door height and rv height you are taking a big risk. I have a 14’ door and well higher than my coach spec height, but my antennas still hit going in and out. I suspect you’re going to find in normal drive mode you’ll have an issue.

I don't believe the 12 foot 10 inch measurement includes the AC units.
Tiffin recommends a minimum of 14 foot opening.
I resiliently installed a Versa Tube RV port 14 x 12.5 x 40.5
The center peak of the RV port is 14 foot and the side walls are 12.5 foot.
Mine fits good but I dont believe it would fit if I only had 13 feet all the way across the top.

door opening

I have a 2019 Phaeton that is 12' 7" , my door opening is 12' 7". I have put marks on the floor that I can look out the side window and line up with my exhaust pipe from my generator. This tells me when to stop and I manually dump all the air from the suspension.
This gives me 3 to 4 inches of clearance and I have not had any problems with this method. once inside I have 14'. The tallest thing on my roof is the traveler satellite. I do the reverse to get out. Do as one of the other posters said and measure your tallest point aired up.
Good luck, but I think you will be ok.

You, can fit into a 13' opening but the approach to the garage must be nearly the same at the garage floor. If the approach angles up or down even by an inch or two you could hit the door going in or out. If the approach goes up from the garage floor it will hit somewhere in the middle of the coach. If the approach goes down from the garage floor, then you will hit the tail as you back in.

Thanks, everyone, for the quick responses. Just found out that the door is actually 14' high, not 13. The 13' measurement is wall to wall once inside the door. A breakdown in communication is what happened here. So, all is good!!

Again, thanks for the feedback and responses.

My 33aa is 12'10" measured height. I do have the taller AC units. I think the Mach 10's are about 3" less. The antennas do hit though under than 14'. I have not been able to drive with the air bags deflated. Could be helpful if it was the same as semi trucks.

Awesome. You could close your eyes and hit that opening.

My dad had an RV and garage with the same situation. He dumped the bags to get it in AND OUT of the garage for many, many years. Just don't forget when you pull it out.
