FRED questions???

Looking for a new, to us, coach. On a FRED, how noisy, compared to a rear engine pusher? Also could not figure out if the FRED has air ride, or springs and shocks. Any input of FREDs would be great. Thanks, the everFREDdy Muffin Man.

I think Freds are fine, but the 2 owners I've run into - one wouldn't buy another and the other was selling his. If you buy one plan to pay as little as you can, because you probably won't get much if you try to sell it later. Dave

Ours is on a Freightliner Chassis with shocks and leaf springs. The ride is not as smoothe and quiet as a RED with air springs and rear diesel but with the weight up front it handles very well. Quiet enough on the interstate and noisy when pulling a grade and the fans kick in. Economical to operate and the Tiffin build quality is very good.

We are owners of a Tiffin FRED for a few years now and are very happy with it , quieter than our Tiffin gasser but noisy when in low gears. Handles great and we love the floor plan.
