front cabin thermostat

my front cabin thermostat, "RV comfort.HP" appears to be not functioning properly and makes the AC run intermittently. seems the temp as displayed is wrong.

any fixes short of a simple replacement ?

tks

You didn't say what year and model Tiffin you have so it is impossible for anyone to give you a real answer. If it is a newer model then your temperature reading comes from a sensor in the ceiling not from the thermostat. IF you have the temperature sensor in the ceiling ( a small white disk) you can check it by putting your hand on it for a minute and see if the readout on the thermostat goes up. Again if you have the sensor make sure that you don't have a vent blowing directly on the sensor. That will give erratic readings.

This is what the temperature sensor looks like. They can fail and replacement is very easy, just two wires.

thank you for the reminder of details.....I have a 2013 Open Road. I do have the ceiling sensor.

a bad sensor makes sense but one follow up question - my thermostat when off does show the correct temp, as I recall when using the AC is the temp control issue.

thanks

Again make sure you don't have a vent blowing directly on the sensor. That will give bad readings.
