Front Mud Flap on 2019 Tiffin OR 32SA fell off?

Hi Guys: Went out to the coach today and found my right front mud flap laying on the ground? What the heck?

I don't see any holes in the metal flap above the rubber flap? What the heck was keeping this thing up, or held on?

Was it spot welded on? It don't look like I can do it myself. Any ideas? My dealer is almost 2hrs away.

Yes that was the first thing I did. I got a flashlight and looked at the other side. No screws bolts holding it up. It looks like it was spot welded on. Does that make sense.?

I guess no one has a clue about mud flaps huh. I will solve the problem and let you know what I find out. I have a welder stopping buy my place this week.

This seems like a REALLY DUMB set up ny Tiffin.

On my ‘15 31SA it appears the front mud flap is 3 pieces; a single upper, and the a split 2 side lower section. The lower sections appear to be attached to the top with 2 plastic “plugs” on each piece that pops into the upper section. I can’t tell how the upper section attaches though....

I just saw this and took a look at my 2018 32SA. The metal piece is spot welded at the top into the tube frame of the coach. Should be a easy fix with about 3 self tapping screws per side. I’m going to do that before I have the same failure as yours.

Hi Mike: Thank you very much for looking. You are correct in your conclusion. I called Tiffin Service in Red Bay today. After being shuffled around for about 30 minutes I finally got to talk to some one in Chassis service. And he said and I quote, if it doesn't have any holes in it, they are spot welded on.

The top metal plate and the two rubber flaps that are attached at the bottom are one piece. They spot weld the top of the piece across the top.

I thought about the three self tapping screws, BUT wouldn't it be hard to drill through that tube frame into the metal flange?

Remember this mud flap just fell off as the coach was just sitting there. Imagine if I was doing 70 mph and this fell off and flew up and hit a car windshield behind me. The metal plate holding the two rubber flaps would do considerable damage.

Hi B2T: In your pic that's not where it failed. The whole metal flange above attached to the two flaps came off in one piece. Be care full check your weld spots.

Hi Guys: Just an update. My coach has been at the dealership now for almost two weeks. They had a punch list of about 10 items that I needed fixed, including the mud flap.

I am waiting for a new lower grill on my coach. I came back from a 800 mile round trip to Maine and the roads on I84 & I95 going through NY and CC were so bad that my lower grill shook loose completely. I had to keep it held on with bailing wire. Plus the ride over rough roads with the 32SA leaves a lot to be desired.

Just an FYI..... had the coach to Red Bay, stopped on the way home from Florida trip. There was about three or four items to get fixed, put 3K miles on that trip.

This is my second trip back to my dealer, two hours away for warranty work.

Yeah well the life of RVing, once you fix something, another item breaks or needs to be fixed.
