Front overhead TV says no signal when using the Direct TV mode
Hello Again! Here is another issue that has me scratching my head!!! I have my mid ship and front overhead TV using the same Direct TV box the issue is that the mid ship TV always works when using Direct TV but the front one works when ever it wants too most of the time it says no signal!! The front TV works with everything else with the cable/antenna and the DVD player, but it might work once or twice in a trip and then it will not work for a couple of stops I have checked the back of the Direct TV box at the connections and everything seems to be OK has anyone run into this type of issue? Thank You.

I would start by switching the cable connections from the DirecTV receiver going to the two TVs or replacing the one to the problem TV. Sometimes the connections look good but the cable or connector is bad. If that does not work and you have the selector box try switching there. I am making assumptions your DirecTV receiver is rather old and your TV is also. Most newer receivers and TVs use HDMI cables. It might help to know the vintage. Sounds like you are familiar with the TV input modes and how to change. As an after thought rather than switching cables to check you also try using a RCA cable(red ,white, yellow) from the DirecTV receiver to the TV and see if that works. Most older TVs have RCA connections in the front and back.

What year and model Tiffin do you have? On our 2013 35 QBA which is a gasser, The 5 colored composite cable hooks to the receiver in the compartment over the drivers seat and then travels over to the passenger side where it goes into a distribution box. Each TV is fed from there. It could be the connection there or the one at the back of the TV. That distribution box only feeds for satellite. The are others that feed for DVD, OTA and cable.

Grandcanyon,
You really need to supply us with model and year since Tiffin changed the TV signal transmission starting in 2012 from HDMI in some coaches and component in others to all 2016 coaches now use a CAT6 transmission system.
Most likely it is a loose cable but it also could be a bad splitter/encoder module.

Problem with signal to overhead TV with Direct TV
Hello again! Sorry I did not give you the year of my Allegro Red, it's a fairly new model it's a 2015. I tried to check the cables of the front TV but I cannot get to the cables on the back, anyone know how to get to the back of the overhead TV??? Thank You!

My RV is an Open Road and there is an access opening in the rear of the TV cabinet. Since your model is different and newer I don't know if this will help.

2015 Allegro REDs should have the splitter/encoder system with CAT6 cable. The output from your Sat receiver is connected to the system with a HDMI cable to the splitter/encoder. This nifty device is mounted in or near your entertainment cabinet and has a fan for cooling and a switch that needs to be turned on (for both the fan and the device). There are two of these devices mounted in the cabinet - one for the Sat picture distribution and one for the BluRay.
You can check the cables but also check the LED lights on the device. A green light means the TV has connected; a red light or no light means that you have a problem which can either be a connection issue or a device issue. No lights means that the power supply for these devices is bad.
I know, a lot more complicated than you want to hear.
If you do not have the splitter/encoders, you still have a HDMI splitter mounted somewhere in the coach. (try the ceiling of the first bay after the propane tanks on the passenger side). If that is what you have, check the cabling and then power it off then back on.
Have your VIN number handy and call Tiffin Service. They can tell you which TV distribution system you have. You may also want to visit tiffinrvnetwork.com as a lot more experienced owners hang out there.

Some one not long ago had the same issue. We have a 2015 37PA Allegro Red. Had the same issue three months ago. The HDMI lead came out of the CAT 6 splitter. Take the 4 screws out of the wood vent and then remove the screws , square head that hold the TV onto the lower bracket. You will see two black boxes, splitters. Make sure the inputs and outputs are all tight. One my inputs for the BlueRay player came out. When I went to the source button on the remote the icon was greyed out and not lit. See if your DirecTV comes on by switching the two input leads on the two boxes. Tiffin says that they do go bad. they sent me one even it was out of warranty and I keep it as a spare if one goes out. By the way have a second person to hold set while you work on the splitters.
