Fuel capacity 2018 Bus

I have a 2018 37 AP bus I should have 150 gallon fuel tank but my fuel light comes on and fuel gauge is on empty and it only takes 104 gallons to fill it up anybody else experiencing this.
My brother-in-law has a 2019 40 IP Bus and his fuel gauge still shows 3/8 of a tank and 500 miles to go and I am empty.
I am wondering if my fuel sender in the tank or my gauge is bad or do I have a smaller tank than what is listed for my coach.

You do have a 150 gallon tank and the gauges are noted for being inaccurate. One thing to check is in your dash setup, see if there is an option for Bus in the coach type. Ours was set at "Other" and when I changed it to Phaeton it go a lot closer to actual usage.

Looks like you will have to wait 897 years to find out.

Good Morning LT Dan,
Just went through my set up and it was on OTHER, There is no option for Bus.
I switched it to Phaeton. We will give that a try.
Thank you and have a great day.

There was a recall for the sending unit on our year bus. Tiffin insisted on replacing the sending unit in our bus when were at RB in 2018. I told them I did not want the new one as ours worked fine. Well now its way off so I go by mileage to determine when to fill up.

Interesting but the Phaeton has 100 gallon tank so not sure that will solve your problem.

That may make a difference as well since the Phaetons to my knowledge only have 100 gal fuel tank which is 2/3rds of your 150. I can attest mind was set to other and my tank was off but much more accurate after I set it to Phaeton

Capacity for 2017 Bus

I put in 125 gals when my gauge read 1/8. I assume part of the 150 gal capacity is unusable, I just don't know how much.

How do I check my "coach type" dash setting?

I too have noted that my displayed fuel is lower than actual (100 gal.); when it indicates I'm approaching low I still have 1/4 tank remaining. As I'd rather be cautious I don't mind this discrepancy.

Regardless I'd appreciate info on specifics - on how to check my dash setup - so I can play around with it. My Phaeton model is posted below.

Nobody has mentioned this yet so thought I would. Our Phaeton has fills on each side of the coach. Filling on the passenger side doesn’t allow me to actually fill the tank, almost a 1/4 tank less than if I use the drivers side fill. Tiffin does mention that in our manual and they are correct. However, our fuel gauge isn’t that accurate either and I almost always go by miles driven and error on the conservative side so we always have enough fuel to run the generator. I’m usually more than ready for a driving break before we need fuel anyhow.

Our 2014 Phaeton seems similar.. It has a 100 ga tank, but a couple times I drove it to the fuel light came on plus 100 miles or so basically the gauge was deep in the red almost to E and I still only could put in 80 gallons. It seems like the gauges are nowhere near accurate, there is a massive reserve, or part of the tank is unusable (I always fill on driver side).
