I had this issue also
I had this issue also. The generator would simply start itself and run awhile and then stop. I verified the AGS was set to OFF. I simply want the gen to run WHEN I START IT. I would see extra hours on the use meter when I had not run it. Sometimes I could hear it running in the garage... not good. I keep the batteries filled with water and fully charged.
There is a control cable with a connector within a foot of the generator. Lots of tape around it. Note this cable does not carry any power to/from the generator. It's just where the remote start, Magnum panel connect. I removed the tape, pulled the connector apart and cleaned the 6-wire connector with electronic terminal cleaner. Then, I filled the connector with Di-electric grease and reconnected. I taped the connector with rubber weather-proof tape and then electrical tape.
In the past, it happened very rarely. Like 2-3 times a year. I haven't noticed any issue since I did this work.
