Generator Door wont open
My genset door opens by pulling a Tshape handle in the front port side compartment. Unfortunately I can't get it to open. Helpful hints will be appreciated. Oops, we moved up to a 2002 Allegro Bus, but haven't changed the signature page.

Gently pounding around the opening with your fist or a rubber mallet while applying pressure may help.

Have you crawled under the coach to see what the T handle connects to. Perhaps the linkage is broken or the latch the T handle operates is simply stuck. since I don't have a coach like yous I really don't have any help to offer other than the above WAG's

Our "T" handle is inside beside the drivers seat under the dash. It operates very hard and you would swear (literally) that it's stuck. Maybe yours is the same?

Not quite sure which part you can't get open - the generator slideout or the door that opens the compartment to get to the handle.
If it's the door, then turn the two latches counter clockwise and bang on the door a bit to free it up.
If you can pull the T handle, but the generator won't open, that's another issue. The T handle pulls a cable that connects to one of two latches that hold the generator in. It's the driver side latch at the back of the generator. The driver side latch then connects to an identical latch on the passenger side via a steel rod linkage. When the DS latch is pulled, the PS side should also open up. However, that isn't always the case. A number of times the rod disconnects because it's only held on with a metal retaining clip. You can pull all day on the T handle if you want but if only one latch operates, you aren't going anywhere. In that case you'll need to get underneath the coach (jack it up with the levellers but use jackstands as a safety measure) and manually pull the second latch. One they both release a spring will pop the generator out a couple of inches so that you can grab hold and open it the rest of the way.

Cruzer has the right info to get you started. Once you've determined that the latches are releasing, but the generator isn't moving, you probably have a dirt problem. If someone has lubed the tracks the generator rolls out on, dirt and dust will build up and make it difficult to impossible to pull the generator out. You can pry it out (CAREFULLY) from under with a piece of wood, and once it's out use something like WD-40 or brake cleaner to get the tracks cleaned. Going to take a lot of in-and-out, cleaner and rags and dog work at that point.
