Generator help
I have a 7500 onan generator. I just changed the chassis batteries in my 2000 tiffin allegro diesel motorhome.
The new batteries work fine, but I try to start the generator it does not work. Doesn't work from the front or when the motorhome is running from inside. The red light blinks 3 times which states service required. I change the oil, oil filter fuel filter and air filter as required.
Is there a way to by pass the service required, or do I have to take it to Cummings to have it reset??
Thank u for everyone's help

Perhaps since your year they changed it, but in my coach the generator starts from the house batteries.

I had the generator running yesterday for about 2 hrs and it was fine.
Changed out chassis batteries today, checked generator- no go.

Seems like you might have a cable missing from a battery.

Checked cables
All good.
Engine starts up no issues. Turned on all lights and fans inside the motorhome, no issues.

Put a meter on the battery cable connection on the generator if good Jump the solenoid. If that works the problem is in the switch system.

All fixed!!!???
Started the motorhome, put it drive to move it, started to drive and generator started right up. On the first try too.
Drove about 20 miles with AC on, and generator stayed on the whole time.

You must have a bad connection somewhere between the battery and the gen set. If you are sure the battery terminals connection are good then I would look at ground on the generator first.

Not unless you found something that could cause the symptom.
It'll be back.......usually at the worst time.

Three blinks just means the generator shut down without a command to. Press the stop one more time and you will get the actual fault code that may or may not tell you what actually is wrong. A blinking light will not prevent you from trying to start the generator. There is no reset. The last fault can be retrieved by pressing the stop button three times within 5 seconds. To my knowledge, the generator starts from the house batteries on all Tiffin motorhomes.
