Generator slide

2008 Allegro Bus generator slide out latch will not release. Anyone have experience with this problem?

If yours is like the later models, there are two latches behind the generator that are pulled by a cable. Chance are they need to be lubricated and the only way to access is from underneath.

We have an '06 Phaeton so it might be different than yours. Our “T” handle is in the first compartment on the driver's side and in the upper right hand corner.

To open our generator slide, I pull the “T” handle and the slide will release and I can pull it out about an inch. Then I have to pull the “T” handle again to release a safety lock and the generator will slide open.

It's somewhat similar to the hood on a car, first pull releases the hood but then you go around front and hold a 2nd latch to raise the hood.
