I have a Rand McNally RVND 7710 GPS that I use for my MH, but it just went Kamph. would you be able to recommend a replacement unit.

Rand McNally is no longer making RV GPS units, they are now focusing on commercial trucking and the boating industry.
Before I spend around $500 + on a Garmin RV GPS, I just bought a Chinese OHREX truck/RV GPS for $70 on Amazon. The routing so far has been accurate for my length, height,width, weight settings. Entered addrress's are also accurate.
It is IMO clunky and clumsy to use compared to my RM 7730 and RM 7 untis. But for the price I'll stick with it; lifetime map updates are vis mini SD card. Haven't figured otu how that would work though.

I have had my Garmin 760 for some time, and I really love it. My new RV has in dash navigation (Kenwood head unit) and I mounted the Garmin for the DW. The touch screen is a bit slow, but the map details are good and the free lifetime map updates are a cost blessing. They are a bit "pricey", but it's hard to beat Garmin.

Another option is an android tablet with built in GPS sensor, cheap and readily available in different brands and sizes. Download the CoPilot RV app and you will have a fully functional large vehicle customizable GPS unit at less than 1/4 the cost of a stand alone GPS unit, plus a tablet to use for other things.

Regrettably, I am in the market for a new GPS also. My Garmin 760 just quit updating. From reading up on the problem it seems to be a bad cable receptacle on the gps unit. I liked it and will try to find something comparable. I'll look to see what Garmin is producing now.

Who would have thought? My RM unit started blowing fuses yesterday too. It was a great unit for many years, but just gave up the ghost.

I purchased CoPilot RV some years ago for a one-time charge of $30 to $40 (don't remember the actual amount), however now it is only available at a yearly subscription of $30.

My app works fine and I still get free map updates. I use it as a backup to my Garmin.

We have been using the garmin 770-rv with lifetime maps and traffic. I't does okay, it keeps the maps up to date, but I still check the directions with google maps and my Trucker Road Atlas

I've used Garmin motorcycle GPS units for years with no problems. Now I have a 1090 RV GPS and it works great, too!

We changed from Co-Pilot to a Garmin RV 785 because it has a forward facing camera that enables lane departure and collision warning assistance along with video recording capabilities.

Been using Garmin RV with lifetime updates for years and no issues. It is well worth the money in my opinion.

I would never trust the cheap Chinese junk for accurate mapping.

Have you looked at RV Trip Wizard and the phone app for it?

This may not be a route you are interested in going, but I pulled the outdated radio head unit from ours and replaced it with a Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX. It supports wireless Apple Carplay, so I can set up a route in Google Maps, RV Life, Waze, whatever and then put my phone away and it displays on the head unit.

Everybody is pushing the RVtripwizard but it has given me bad advise as well. My RM 7730 I'm told by RM is an "end of life devise" and new maps are no longer available for it. That's OK because their maps have always been bad. I'm think about getting a Garmin so would love feedback.

Was that a simple plug n play install/switch?
