Heading to Red Bay, AL in the morning

We ordered our first Class A several weeks ago, (Allegro 36LA) and have received word that construction has begun on it, so we are heading out in the morning to catch some of the construction and tour the factory. What a fun experience to see our own coach 'being born'. We are expecting delivery of the coach around Nov. 25.
We are making the trip down in our car since we will only be down there for a couple days. If anyone has any tips, we appreciate hearing from you.

When we went to see our's being built we only scheduled 2 days. This was not enough time. The first day was a traveling day and a lot of the workers have left already. Plan enough days to see everything.

Depending on what time your build is scheduled to start, you can do the tour in the AM and then catch the start if it is at 12:30p. If you didn't get a detailed schedule, ask Stephanie McCarley in Sales for one. It takes about 5 days in Red Bay for assembly before it is shipped off to Belmont, MS for paint. If you can, stop by the Belmont facility to see how they are painted - interesting process.

Take lots of photos during the build. Some day, you may want to know where the wires run, what's behind the fridge, where the water pipes are, etc.

I would forget the tour and go directly to the factory to see as much as you can. Then walk around to all of the various sections to take in the rest. Like how the floor is created , then the slide outs, then the side walls and then the cabinet wood working section and take a trip to Belmont MS ( about 9 miles ) to see the paint factory. Take tons of pictures and movies the employees are very receptive to questions.

Djbmsu, why would you bypass the actual tour? I really enjoyed it. We had all the time in the world following the tour to freely roam the factory and even walked around before the tour started. If I hadn't already ordered a Tiffin, and I was gathering information and narrowing down my choice between coaches, I would certainly want any info offered by those conducting a tour of the factory where they are built.
