Holiday Rambler owner
I am considering purchasing a Pheaton 36 QSH and am looking for information as to what other people have driven and why they changed to Tifftin models? All input would be appreciate both good and bad.

I switched to Tiffin after a visit to their factory. I had a Holiday Rambler Endeavor LE. After seeing what Monaco did to the HR line and then of course after they wizzed it down the urnal the choice was pretty simple. We totally love our new Allegro RED.

Toolman, I recently ordered a new 34 TGA (gas) after several months of research.
The RV industry as a whole leaves a lot to be desired by an educated or demanding consumer. In my opinion it always has.
Over the last 35 years, I have had many MH's and TT or park models including several my parents had when I was young. I also broke into the workforce as a young man working and maintaining campers in a camp ground. I learned early that most rv's are built like crap.
Unfortunately the industry hasn't made huge advances in quality. That being said, after looking very closely at most items that others don't even think about, the only 2 manufacturers I felt were worth giving my money to were Winnabego(Itasca) or Tiffen.
I and other family members have had plenty of experience with Winnebego/Itasca as 4 different models were owned at various times. Also I have to say that there may be one or other 2 manufacturers out there that might be worth considering, but there are no dealers selling their products anywhere near where I live. I live outside of Chicago (second city), so if these manufacturers don't feel they need representation near the second most populated area in the US, then I don't think I'm going to care for there product anyway.
To me Tiffen has a WAY better looking product. There paint job is second to none! Also there interior room and cabinetry far exceed anyone else's units. The only place I personally feel they fall short in looks is in the interior decorating. They could do wonders for themselves to offer an interior scheme a little more "with the times". A current thinking interior designer could do wonders!
I feel there manufacturing quality is above the industry standard, even if the standard isn't great.
The biggest thing I have seen, heard, and was the most influential to my decision was Tiffen's reputation for going out of there way to take care of their customers. You will find hundreds of stories out there where Tiffen has gone WAY above and beyond the call to take care of both customers who have purchased new and use products of theirs.
I am 100% convinced this is due to there owner's (Bob Tiffen) pride and old school way of thinking. He started the business with his ideas and sweat and it must mean a great deal to him to have his family name on these units as they travel down americas highways.
ANY RV you buy you will be susceptible to failures and attrition. The big question is who or what will be there to support you when something goes bad!
My wife and I are extremely please with our unit and you can find many people here and on the Tiffen owners forum who can testify to the same!

I bought a new Tiffin Phaeton in 2008 and had to sell in 2010. Last year we decided to get another RV and would have bought a used Tiffin in a second. Tiffin's customer service is #1 IMO, and that was a factor in my decision to buy another, plus you get good bang for your buck. Unfortunately, I found that most of the people who are trying to sell their used RV's were asking way too much for them, so I bought another brand. To give you an idea - I sold a 2008 40QSH in 2010 for $142K. King bed, outside TV... the works. Included in my "deal" was an Evenbrake, the tow bar, built in surge protection, water softener, Pressure Pro monitoring system and a few other things. Some would say I gave it away, but I don't think so. Tiffin is a great motor home!

We just bought our first diesel, an Allegro RED 34QFA and we are very happy with it. We have owned products from various other manufacturers over the past 30 years and this far surpasses anything else we have owned in terms of quality and bang for the buck. We just returned from a 1300 mile trip, and our gas mileage averaged between 10-11 miles per gallon. That's better than anything we have done with anything else. So far, we are truly "happy campers."

Tiffin runs an impressive operation and best of all they really stand behind their product! We just left their facility in Red Bay, AL where they did a warranty replacement of our wet bay floor. Our Phaeton is 8 1/2 years old!

I sold a 2011 40 Phaeton QBH after dealing with 100 plus issues. Most were fixed over a year, but they wore me down. I lived at a dealer or the one trip to RB was enough. I now have a 12 Revolution with 3,400 miles and 0 issues. At this same time frame I had 30 some problems with the Phaeton. Tiffin will fix your problems but I spent 2 plus months getting repairs. A bit much for 1/4 million dollars.
