How stable is your Mh when parked

Wife and me having an argument about if the couch should move or not

It's a2017 tiffin allegro open road 36ua
4 level jacks with the pads

After auto leveling we push down a little more to get more stability but even though the couch moves even when you walk.
Nothing to crazy but still you can feels movement
She think there is something wrong , I think it's normal but this is our first mh with jacks

Your couch should not be moving. Or does it just feel like it’s moving with the movement of the RV when someone walks around.

I have a heavier and beefier DP, and you will still notice that you aren’t walking on a concrete slab built house. Just the nature of a vehicle built with metal beams, suspension and rubber tires.
With high winds, you will also feel it rock or shake….

I actual like the very subtle movement….. but like you said It should be ever so slight if all four jacks are in contact with the ground.

One thought….. do you have rubber pads, or snap pads on your jacks? This could be the cause of your extra movements…. Take them out of the equation for a test, just metal jacks on the ground, and see how it feels?

I think he meant to type "coach".

To the OP: when the auto level completes typically there are a few very brief pressure strokes to each of the four jacks, and then it will complete. I think that's to equalize hydraulic pressure across all the lines/jacks. If you play with the jacks after that's completed, I think you defeat that last action of your auto level system. At least that's the way it seems to work in my 34PA. So my recommendation is to just leave it alone once it completes.

Separately, even though you've got the four jacks deployed, in my experience there's always going to be a little wobble depending on who's walking where. I wouldn't be bothered by that if you feel a little bit after you've deployed your jacks. If it's excessive, then that's another thing. You'll have to gage by experience.

I thought the same moving from our Fifth Wheel to a MH, but to no avail, can still feel the DW walking around a bit. Not as bad as the Fifth Wheel, but still there.
Did find out that limiting the stroke of the leveling jacks, helps a lot with our MH not rocking as much. Doesn't eliminate the rocking entirely, but smooths out the rocking so feels less noticeable. That is until the washing machine kicks into spin mode...then all that goes out the window, and get ready for the earthquake or nice chair massage feeling. Sometimes I think that thing is going to sling clothes everywhere the way it shakes...

Our Allegro Bus is like that as well. If you put a couple wood blocks under the jacks, it should be a little more stable because the jacks aren't as extended.

I am assuming you don't let the jacks lift your tires off the ground, correct? We see that a lot, but I won't do it.

I must be the odd man out. The Phaeton was solid as a rock when level. Never felt any movement & DH had a heavy footstep.

No. The tires are always touching ground.
By most of the replies I was right
The movement is very light.
Still I will try using some blocks to avoid the jacks going out too much
Thx

Our auto level raises the coach higher than manual level. The higher the coach on the jacks, the more movement. We always manually level for that reason. We still feel some creaking/movement, but less than when raised higher.

What you explained about the final leveling step makes sense
Will try to just leave it auto for the next time
Is not an excessive movement. Just my wife thought that there was something off and it should move at all .
Easier to show her these replies than have the " conversation " every time jacks are deployed

Using blocks is how I have made my coach more stable. The less the jacks are extended the more stable the coach is. I stack as many blocks under my jacks as will fit before lowering the jacks.
I use pressure treated 2X12x12' blocks plus 1 1/4" x 5 1/2 x 12" and 1/2 " 12 x 12 plywood boards as necessary, the larger of course on the bottom.

They are snap pads.
I installed it after 3 or 4 times using the coach if I remember they helped a lot.
