HWH Air Level in lieu of jacks

We are at a campground where all their sites are low at the back end.
When I first arrived (Friday) I let it auto level with the hydraulic jacks. This had the rear wheels off the ground by a fraction of an inch. So I decided to level again, but this time with the air.
We have noticed a pump of some kind running at various times throughout the day. The pump is located next to the generator.

My question is, is this normal ? Is the air leveling only meant for short periods of time ? Is that pump up front simply adjusting for air loss ?

I want to make sure it's not doing anything it shouldn't be doing.

Thanks

That is very normal. It rechecks for being level periodically (adjustable BTW) we use air leveling all the time and have used the jacks only one time when slope was a bit to much to cope with on air leveling. Ours is the Valid system and not HWH but yours should work the same I would think.

I've been using air leveling for some time now. It takes far less time for the bags to inflate or deflate after arriving at our spot

We had Active Air added to our coach. When using the system to level while parked in lieu of the hydraulic jacks, the HWH system is configured to "Wake Up" every 30 minutes to check the level. If it detects and unlevel condition, the compressor will in fact turn on to bring the coach back to a level condition.

Hope that helps, Brian

Air Leveling? Never heard of it? Where is it controlled? I have a 2018 40AH with HWH Leveling. I see where I can dump the air but never heard of air leveling. Please school me.

Dutch,
You don't have it and it is not an option on Phaetons. The Valid Air Leveling system is an option on Allegro Bus. It basically uses the suspension airbags to level the coach instead of putting the jacks down. Great for short term stops but for longer stays most people put the jacks down.
