Hydraulic Controls = Too Many dings

I want to know if there is a way to reduce how long this hydraulic control panel continues to ding..... I would like to reduce the time out period, it is annoying how long this units continues to ding. ding. ding.....

Is there a setting somewhere for this?

Have you checked your hydraulic fluid tank level?

I'm not sure about your system as I have the gas model Tiffin with hydraulic leveling jacks. If my jacks are down and I turn the ignition key to "On" or "Accessories" it will ding forever or until you turn the key off.
I wish I knew how to make it time out.
Thanks,

jlturner,

I will check the hydraulic level in the morning. I guess I need to figure out what type of fluid is required if i need to add some

Just use automatic transmission fluid.

On mine, checking that level is virtually impossible. It has a small dipstick on the tank cover, but its hard to reach and no way do I get a decent reading by the time I pull it out.

I've learned to use a screwdriver into the tank and pull it out, much easier.

Also, if my mechanic is correct, you want to check the level with the jacks up and the slides in, that's then the most is in the tank. I think the slides are a bit of a push/pull system so may not matter much, but the jacks use fluid going down, springs coming up.

Hopefully, your hydraulic tank is easy to check than mine!

That ding noise will chirp for about 2 minutes when we are all set up and level and I have the key off and slides out. I have no idea why or how you can shut it off, but it always quits after that amount of time. Is it normal? don't know but at least you now know another one acts the same. I do not believe it has anything to do with fluid levels.

You can also search around under the dash for the piezo speaker that makes the dings. On most, there's a cap you can turn to quieten it down. If it doesn't, put some tape over the speaker hole.

HWH sells an expensive clear hydraulic fluid that does not have the red dye in it. Either is okay, without the red dye might be less messy if a hose bursts.
Thanks,

Many for the input. I like the idea of dialing down the volume with tape or some other means. I like the safety feature however there are times it's just annoying.

2021 Open Road 34PA: We quite often want to have the ignition on to work on something and that ear piercing alarm for jacks down is unbearable. I found some info on a Winnie Owners forum and wired ours similarly to disable it on demand. A momentary switch sets a relay to hold the "jacks down" audio alarm off; the audio alarm resumes next time ignition key is turned back on. The red visual warning light is not disabled at all. This has been the perfect fix for us. I used these parts from Amazon...
