Lucky Tiffin reps were on site last week and got authorization quickly.. Now on to poorly installed windshield. And entry door glass. Will have Lazydays replace windshield or take her to RedBay

Glad you're getting some help on these issues. I wasn't impressed with Tiffin's quality control or inspection prowess when I found out Redbay has 80 service bays for owners who have to take them back to the factory. Seems like more time inspecting while under construction could reduce the return and repair rate. Unfortunately, the owner ends up eating the costs of the trip to get it repaired.

As a Tiffin owner I have to agree with this post. If more was effort was placed on Quality Control then they could reduce the visits to the service center by a significant amount and have more satisfied customers. Yes I know it is sacrilege to say something against Tiffin but if the shoe fits......

While I’m impressed with the overall built of my coach I am interested in the Quality Control aspect of my issues. My hydraulic leak is the result of fittings not being tightened down on the rams at time of installation. Factory. Also improper installed windshield leaking inside. Also Factory. Tiffin is correcting all of these problems as I would expect.
I am going to RedBay after the repairs are done this week and spending some time there. Tiffin has agreed to reinspect my 18 37ap.
My primary question is just how much impact do the tours and new owners watching their builds have on the workers. Are they interrupted and bombarded by questions? Could the hydraulic installer on my coach have been distracted by questions? I’ll just see for myself. Maybe .. maybe not. Loose fittings is just not something that should happen at an assembly plant and something that did not present itself untill the unit left.
We will see

I took the factory tour in March 2016. The folks on the tour did not talk or distract the assembly line workers. I did not see any new owners watching their rig being built. The chassis are rolled into the build plant fully assembled so if your leak was in the chassis it could not have been due to a factory tour distraction. My main observation of the assembly line was it is organized chaos. Very messy; screws and trash laying all over the floor. They need to slow down the assembly line and improve quality. After all just how much $$$$ does the Tiffin family need? I was told every third coach built was sheer profit. Don't know it that comment was from a reliable source.

I can't imagine that a simple pressure test wasn't done on the hydraulics before concealing the hoses/fittings.

I had a hydraulic hose on the leveling system blowout at the fitting during the PDI. Since i imagine they are custom fitted that is a workmanship issue.

The folks on tour rarely interact with the workers. We were there for our entire build and would seldom ask questions or detract them from their job. What we saw were a lot of conscientious people working the lines, but under time constraints of course. As for the hydraulic installation, that is done in the chassis sub frame welding area and few people visit there since they can't be around where the welding is taking place. Once the chassis rolls into the assembly line, the chassis and hydraulics are already installed. Yours is one of the very few I have heard about with leaking cylinders from not being tightened.

The Tiffin Factory rep thought the same.. very rare and very interested.
