Need to winterize Tiffin Alegro Red 34 QFA with residental refrigator. The owners manual talk about disconnecting the supply line and blowing air into it. Do you have to pull the frig out? Where is the ice maker soleniod valve located?

Its located in your lower exterior refrig. access panel. Look for white nylon/plastic tube. The solenoid will have 2 water connectors on it. 1 inlet & 1 outflow that goes up the back of the refrig. to the ice maker.

toneumanns is right. Mine is set up just like that. Disconnect let drain and put the arm on the icemaker up.

Though it could, in theory, be most anywhere the ice maker solenoid on Dometics, and Norcolds is usually in the outside compartment.

Two options... Turn on the fridge (leave doors open for this) and either while blowing air, or after the first blow out, force the ice maker to cycle.

If blowing the lines.. you should blow, pause, blow pause several times

After the first blow pull the front cover off the ice maker (normally you grap the right edge of the plastic and pull) turn the big gear in the direction of the arrow till it runs on it's own.. let it run.

Water will be siphoned out of the fill line and supply line toward the low point drain.

Cycle it a 2nd time.

That's about all there is to it.. after the 2nd cycle turn OFF the supply v alv e.

NOTE: if it freezes and cracks... There are very few solenoids, Basically there are 2.. one has a quarter inch compression fitting on the inlet and the other has a 3/4 " garden hose (Male I think) and comes with an adapter so it can use a quarter inch compression line.

I got mine on E-bay 27 dollars delivered.

Oh, I forgot, there is also "Single and dual stage" the 2 stage units have a low pressure regulator stage ahead of the valve... Harder to winterize (you must blow them out) but..... consistant ice crecents no matter if on city or pump water and no matter what city.. That's what I got for 27 dollars. the better design.

The solenoid for a residential refrigerator is likely located at the bottom of the back side of the fridge. If there is an outside access panel, remove that to get to the solenoid. If there is no outside access panel, you will likely have to pull out the fridge unless Tiffin has relocated the solenoid elsewhere.
