I go this idea from a post by STERNS. Thank you Mr Sterns.
Yes had to modify cup holder to fit 2014 model panels. wedge on bottom was too long had to cut off a few inches.
Did not remove panels.
Traced upside down cup holder onto heavy paper to make a template then reduced the drawing by 1/4" to make it smaller than the original tracing. Had to do this a couple times to get a good template. Tested it on cup holder to get the correct fit. Traced final template onto piece of plywood. Cut plywood to see how cup holder would fit. Plywood was used as a substitute for RV side panels to make sure the hole was right.
Used a dremel tool to cut out hole for cup holders and to modify the cup holder. Cut the side panel hole then inserted cup holder to determine how much to cut off the bottom of the wedge. Kept doing this until the cup holder finally went into the cutout snugly and flush with the side panel ledge.
Used a few drops of super glue to secure cup holders in side panels. This didn't work very well but actually after two camping trips it wasn't even necessary to use the super glue. Cup holders stayed in place. Be very careful as the side panels are not very stiff after the hole is cut in them but they return to original strength after the cup holder is installed.

Thanks Mike, great description on the install.
I ordered the cup holders today from Amazon and will follow your process.

RV Reading Lights for Allegro 36LA
Installed two LED directional spot lights to replace original aircraft style lights over my 36LA sofa. Had to make and stain adapter blocks due to larger hole under the original lights. Brighter pic is with flash. Can now spot light all over the RV including a book. Bought the lights from Amazon. If you would like to order them search for RV reading light LED directional spot light.

John,
I really like what you did. Could you please share more details about the dimensions of the wood box you built, how the original came off and how you remounted both?
Thanks mic

Switching out PS vertical slide window
We have a 2012 Allegro Bus with that sliding window and I might be able to answer the question as to why someone would want it gone.
1. It's hard to open
2. It's noisy (wind)
3. You can't see out of it because of where the two windows meet. I'm 5'7 and
it's right at eye level for me. If you're short it wouldn't be a problem.
My husband checked on replacing it and it's going to cost over $500 just for the window. If anyone has a solid one they want to trade for my wonderful window, let me know.

Mike,
This is a great idea, where did you get the double recliners? Any pics of the new setup?
Thanks!

Probably a stupid question - do you need a 12V power supply for each cut section or did you run one strip for each major cabinet (i.e. one over the couch) powered by one power supply?
I love this upgrade and just trying to decide what I need to order.

Hello Paul,
I am inquiring about the outdoor TV swivel. Do you have any particulars? I would like to put on on mine as well.
