Install articulating mount on outside TV

Have you installed an articulating mount on the outside TV of a Tiffin Phaeton. If so, what mount did you get and did you have to modify the area that holds the TV.

According to the weight of the TV, and length of the arm holding the TV, you may want to fasten the mount to a large panel of plywood bolted to the sidewall of the compartment. If you can access the back of the sidewall, or through bolt to the next compartment over, your mount will be much more secure.

The outside TV is mounted in a metal compartment in the side of the passenger side slide. Its a fixed mount. Not a very deep compartment. Thanks for the suggestion.

Perhaps the metal walls are strong enough to mount, but enlarging the anchor point by using a plywood backer might still be a good idea. Through bolting to the next compartment probably not needed. If you through bolt, be sure to seal around the bolts to prevent water entrance and rust.

You might want to wander over to the Tiffin RV Network website and ask there. A few have done it and they can give you the details on how it was done.
